DEARBORN, Mich. (WILX) - Two men are facing federal charges in connection with what the FBI says was a foiled plot for a Halloween-weekend terrorist attack in Metro Detroit.
Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud are accused of “receiving and transferring, and attempting and conspiring to transfer firearms and ammunition knowing and having reasonable cause to believe that the firearms and ammunition would be used to commit a federal crime of terrorism,” according to a 73-page criminal complaint unsealed Monday.
They are reportedly scheduled to appear in federal court in Detroit on Monday afternoon.
The conspirators, including a juvenile, allegedly traveled to Ferndale multiple times over the past few months, scouting “possible LGBTQ+-friendly attack locations,” according to the complaint.
