During the second-quarter game against the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud sustained a concussion following a big hit in the second quarter by Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, who lunged into his chest and caused the QB’s head to bounce off the turf.
Stroud was down on the field before he eventually got up and walked off the field on his own power. He gave a thumbs-up to the crowd before he entered the medical tent and then went to the locker room.
The team later ruled him out with a concussion, and Davis Mills replaced him under center.
Shortly after his injury, the CJ Stroud Foundation’s Instagram Stories shared a post by his mother, Kimberly, that said, “CJ is ok, thank you for your prayers.”
