Detroit radio personality Warren Pierce of Royal Oak, who for decades was a fixture on the Detroit airwaves, died Friday at age 82.

The Detroit native was known as the host of “The Warren Pierce Show” on WJR-AM and as an anchor at Fox 2 Detroit. He worked at WJR for nearly 40 years, helping to pioneer talk radio in the mid-1970s, before more recently hosting “The Warren Pierce Show” on weekends on WDFN-AM (1130), according to the Detroit News.

His obituary on the Dorfman Chapel funeral home website said he "made an indelible mark on Michigan broadcasting. Home.
