LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Dozens of protesters have gathered in New Albany outside a luncheon for the state's governor.
Gov. Mike Braun is joining a fireside chat with One Southern Indiana on Monday to talk about his priorities, with a focus on cost of living and business in the state.
This comes on the same day a special session begins in the state to consider redrawing Indiana's congressional maps, a topic of great debate.
President Donald Trump has pressed Republicans to draw new maps that give the party an easier path to maintain control of the House in the midterms. Democrats only need to gain three seats to flip control.
Braun called the session after receiving weeks of pressure from the administration. He said the redistricting is necessary to "level the playing field."
