Shillong, Nov 3: United Democratic Party (UDP) chief Metbah Lyngdoh expressed optimism about the party's prospects in the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections.
Lyngdoh said the party has constituted a body to oversee its welfare in the Garo Hills region and identify potential candidates for the elections. He stated that the group is tasked with identifying people or candidates who are active in their constituencies and interested in contesting the upcoming GHADC election.
Lyngdoh dismissed concerns about the Congress posing a threat to UDP in Garo Hills, saying politics is politics but he does not foresee any negative impact on the party.
