DULUTH, Minn. — A Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for several counties in Northeast Minnesota.
The warning spans Aitkin, Carlton, Pine, and St. Louis counties today from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., due to extreme fire risk conditions.
According to officials, A Red Flag Warning means the current weather conditions can cause fires can spread quickly and grow out of control.
If you live in a county with a red flag warning, you should not burn anything and check if any previous fires are completely out.
While the warning is active, the DNR will not issue or activate burn permits for large patches of vegetation, and campfires are discouraged.
