Manitoba’s ethics commissioner is stepping down from the role, the Manitoba Legislative Assembly announced Monday morning.
Jeffrey Schnoor also served as lobbyist registrar and information and privacy adjudicator, a news release announcing his resignation said. Schnoor served in the roles for more than a decade.
Schnoor is becoming B.C.'s conflict of interest commissioner, B.C. MLA Janet Routledge said in the B.C. Legislature on Thursday. He starts his new role on Jan. 5.
In May, Schnoor ruled former Manitoba premier Heather Stefansson and two then Progressive Conservative cabinet ministers violated the province’s conflict-of-interest law and should be fined.
