COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In a world where conference championships are actively diminishing in meaning, Ohio State and Indiana have managed to make a trip to Indianapolis the most important trip ever.

The Big Ten Championship Game was already going to be a battle for conference supremacy. But the way these two have looked through 10 weeks has added national supremacy to the list of things on the line, too. All both sides have to do is win out, then whoever is victorious on Dec. 6 gets their first trophy and the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. Thanks to the efforts of their best players, the sport’s most prestigious award could also be up for grabs.
