The Camaro may be Chevy’s most famous muscle car, but its first, and the one favored by more than a few enthusiasts out there, is the Chevelle. The two-door with the iconic semi-fastback roofline debuted in 1964 but didn’t really come into its own in 1968. The nameplate’s sophomore iteration was in production until 1972 and is generally agreed to have peaked with the 1970 Super Sport, or SS, variant.
