“I had someone who stopped me at Zehrs and said, ‘Hey, aren’t you the movie lady? I was there the other night. I just wanted to tell you I really enjoyed the film,’ and all I could think about was ‘I was hoping not to run into anybody I knew today,’” said Smith-Harris, who, as co-founder and the director of the Stratford Film Festival, will be welcoming movie-lovers to the inaugural four-day event this week. “I’m happy to be the movie lady,” Smith-Harris added.

The festival has been a long time coming for Smith-Harris, who knew she wanted to start a film festival in Stratford before she even moved here with husband Bill Harris.
