ALEXANDRIA — Despite bone-chilling temperatures, this year's Vikingland Community Support Program's annual Halloween Parade brought hundreds to the downtown Alexandria. At the start of the parade, which was around 5:15 p.m., the temperature was about 40 degrees, according to timeanddate.com/weather.
This year's new route — from Fourth Avenue and Broadway Street to Ninth Avenue and Broadway Street — seemed to work pretty well as Broadway was packed with ghosts, goblins, witches, Minions, pirates, princesses and many more kids and adults dressed in their Halloween costumes.
The winner of the 2025 parade was the Pumpkin Patch float by Peppa and Poppy's Market in Alexandria. Their float, decorated with lots of pumpkins, also featured people dressed up as a chicken, duck, corn on the cob,
