SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Monday began with some rather cold temperatures. It will end with the beginning of a sizable warming trend. The dry weather will continue through the rest of the week.

Tuesday temperatures: Temperatures on Tuesday will not be as cold in the morning as lows will settle into the low to middle 40s. Daytime highs will be much warmer as we climb above normal into the mid to upper 70s.

Sunshine to stick around: The reason for the dry weather is a large upper-level ridge that is building over us from the west. In addition to warming us up, the ridge will keep us dry. Futurecast shows a clear sky once again on Monday night. Expect a mostly sunny sky on Tuesday, a clear to partly cloudy sky on Tuesday night, and plenty of sunshine on Wednesday.
