India women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur followed in the footsteps of MS Dhoni as she posed with the Women's World Cup 2025 trophy at the Gateway of India. Harmanpreet and her side scripted history on Sunday, November 2, when they defeated South Africa by 52 runs to secure their maiden World Cup title.
This ended a two-decade-long wait for the Indian women's team as they were able to heal the wounds of the 2005 and 2017 final heartbreaks with the win in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. Following the win, Harmanpreet was pictured with the trophy at the iconic monument. The ICC released the pictures on their social media handles on Monday.
Dhoni, after leading the men's team to the 2011 World Cup glory, posed at the Gateway of India with the title as well.
