Coming out of their surprising 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings , Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell knew he had lost one starting offensive lineman, Christian Mahogany, for the foreseeable future . Campbell said the left guard would be sidelined for a “long time, probably” after he was carted off with a significant leg injury in the fourth quarter.
But the status of two other members within the banged-up unit — tackles Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell — had yet to be determined.
“We’ll see where Decker is at and Sewell, how they feel,” Campbell said after the game.
Less than 24 hours, the answers became a bit more lucid.
