Seven community groups across Clydesdale have been given their share of £2660 thanks to the council's community grants scheme. ‌

Councillors gave the go-ahead for the funding to be given to the organisations at the Clydesdale Area Committee on October 29. ‌

South Lanarkshire Council offers community grants across all wards to local community groups and voluntary organisations. ‌

Funds are given to help groups with a range of costs including activities, projects, publicity costs, equipment and materials, outings, entrance fees and start-up costs.

This batch of grants benefited seven local groups - Douglas Universal Connections Users Group, Lanark Agricultural Discussion Society, The Royal Burgh of Lanark Community, Friends of Gowanpark, Coalburn Homing Club, Forth Brea
