An Inland Empire woman was beaten and threatened with a gun by her husband during a domestic violence incident over the weekend, authorities said.

The unidentified victim, who had suffered significant injuries to her face, managed to flee her home on the 2400 block of Oceanview Drive in the San Antonio Heights community and drive to the Upland Police Department around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

She told authorities she had been struck, threatened and held against her will by her husband, 38-year-old Edgar Morales, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

Investigators also learned that the victim's four young children had been left at home with Morales, who has allegedly been violent with them in the past.
