Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, Hamilton County EMS, and Hamilton County Health & Social Services announced the launch of the Overdose Prevention Team (OPT), the first program of its kind in Tennessee, now fully staffed and operating countywide.
The team, made up of paramedics and peer support specialists, responds through Quick Response Vehicles to deliver life-saving medications and connect individuals to recovery resources.
Mayor Wamp says the initiative marks the county’s largest investment of opioid abatement funds to date.
