Cochrane RCMP believe more victims might have experienced violating interactions with 'Sam' and encourage anyone who had similar encounters with him to come forward

After investigating for more than a year, Cochrane RCMP said Monday a Calgary man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female during an August walk in the Elbow Falls area has been arrested and charged.

On Sept. 26, 2024, RCMP started investigating an Aug. 19 sexual assault between a male and female who had met online. The male was known only as “Sam,” who police believe has profiles on Bumble and Hinge and might also be active on other platforms.
