TRIMBLE COUNTY, Ky. —

A former Kentucky sheriff has been arrested and accused of sexual abuse while on duty.

Former Trimble County Sheriff Charles Kelton, 53, turned himself in to the Oldham County Jail on Nov. 1 after an arrest warrant was issued.

According to court records, Kelton admitted to grabbing a woman's hips and pulling her against him after she rejected him "physically and verbally" on Feb. 21.

This also allegedly happened while Kelton was on duty in uniform and in the woman's office at the Trimble County Attorney's Office.

The Trimble County Sheriff's Office released the following statement:
