LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days after a woman was found shot to death inside a Simpsonville apartment , authorities have released her identity.

The Simpsonville Police Department identified the woman as 41-year-old Brenda Selene Chiquita Acua.

SPD responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of Buck Creek Road at the Veechdale Apartments around 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 29.

Officers found Acua with a gunshot wound and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they have conducted multiple interviews with witnesses and collected a “sizable amount” of evidence from the scene.

“This is the first investigation of this type we have had in significant amount of time,” SPD said.
