A man who Sarnia police said caused a disturbance at a local bank has been jailed about four months.

The incident took place at the Northgate Plaza Scotiabank on Aug. 7. Officers were called there about a man pacing in front of the teller stations and repeatedly yelling that the bank was being robbed, police said.

“The police arrived and, despite the presence of uniformed officers, the male continued to make loud statements about the bank being robbed and was clearly causing upset to all in the vicinity. His erratic behaviour caused alarm among both staff and clients, several of whom appeared visibly distressed and exited the premises,” police said at the time.
