KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported stabbing involving two students at Halls High School on Monday morning, according to Knox County spokesperson Kimberly Glenn.
According to KCSO, a 16-year-old male student in 11th grade stabbed a 15-year-old male student in 10th grade with a sharp object during a barbering class after an "altercation."
KCSO clarified that this object was not a knife.
The 15-year-old victim was transported by ambulance to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to KCSO.
The 16-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Crimes Unit.
