CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - People in Campbell County are concerned about the possibility of data centers being built there in the near future. This is just a month after one proposal was denied by county supervisors, but that vote may not have stopped a data center from coming to the property.

In October, supervisors voted 5 to 2 to deny a request from Mesh Capital LLC to remove the protective proffer from a 57-acre property on Cabin Field Road. However, because data centers have by-right use and are permitted under the Campbell County Code on heavy industrial zoned properties, a data center could still be built there, provided the developer meets the requirements of the protective proffer.
