INDIANAPOLIS - At the intersection of Bonna Avenue and Audubon Road sits Strange Bird and SNUG, two businesses that partake in all the celebrations that annually occur in Irvington.
“The neighborhood is really defined by these events and stuff that happen throughout the year, whether it's Irvington Pride, the Halloween Festival, of course,” said Neal Warner, founder of Strange Bird.
However, with tight restrictions on liquor licenses, they have to jump through several hoops in order to participate.
“There's a lot of outside breweries coming in to sell their products, and it's easier for them to do it than it is for the businesses in the neighborhood,” said Jim Arnoldt, co-owner of SNUG.
