EAST LANSING — Juliann Woodard won't be suiting up for the Michigan State women's basketball team when it opens its season against Mercyhurst on Nov. 4.

But the sophomore forward could be making her season debut in the near future.

MSU coach Robyn Fralick said during a session with media Nov. 3 that she expects Woodard to play in a game in the next few weeks.

"She's been back in practice playing live full 5-on-5," Fralick said. "Credit to her. It's hard to be out. She's kept herself ready, strong. She's in the gym all the time working. We're hopeful we'll have her in live game action in the next few weeks."

The 6-foot Woodard has been out since tearing her left ACL during a Jan. 22 game against Penn State last season. She averaged 3.0 points and 1.9 rebounds while appearing in seven ga
