A double killing in the tiny southern Minnesota town of Hanska claimed the lives of a local volunteer firefighter and his girlfriend, with the woman's ex allegedly responsible for shooting them.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office has identified Justin Reinarts, 50, of Hanska, and Tabitha Trescott, 32, of New Ulm, as the victims shot in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene at around 4:20 a.m. by Trescott's 13-year-old son, who said his mother's ex-boyfriend – identified as 45-year-old Randy Zimmerman, of Courtland, Minnesota – broke into their house on Blessum Street West and shot her in the face.
Deputies arrived to find both Reinarts and Trescott dead from gunshot wounds to the head. It sparked a manhunt for Zimmerman that ended with his arrest in Iowa at a
