CLEVELAND — Saint Ignatius head football coach Ryan Franzinger has resigned after three years in the position, 3News has confirmed.
Franzinger's decision to step down comes just days after the Wildcats ended their season with a 24-17 playoff loss to Perrysburg. During his tenure, Franzinger posted a record of just 5-29 as Iggy fell hard from the ranks of Ohio high school football's elite.
"The school expresses its sincerest gratitude to Coach Franzinger, who will remain on staff as a Theology teacher, for his dedication and service to the football program and for his unwavering commitment to the school's mission," Saint Ignatius said in a statement.
Franzinger played at Ignatius under legendary coach Chuck Kyle, winning a pair of Division I state championships in 1999 and 2001. During
