COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The Columbia County Planning Commission is set to review a proposed ordinance for the potential data center.

All are invited to the public hearing at the Evans Government Center Auditorium, 630 Ronald Reagan Building A, on Thursday at 6 p.m.

This comes after the Columbia County Board of Commissioners released a statement addressing rumors about a proposed data center project , refuting claims of “secret backroom deals” and assertions that the project is “already a done deal forced on the community without input.”

The county’s Development Authority applied in April to rezone almost 2,000 acres of land. The Planning Commission unanimously approved the rezoning in May.
