LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — Monclova Township residents joined in protest against the potential of a data center in the township Monday night ahead Monclova Township Board of Trustees meeting.

Protesters said they are not opposed to data centers in general, but they do not want one built in their community. Many cited health concerns as a primary reason for their opposition.

Township trustees said there are currently no formal plans for a data center in Monclova. However, in March, the board approved a zoning change that could allow for such a facility if the opportunity arises.
