In his season-ending session with the media on Sunday, Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros was asked if he felt the organization did all it could to get the team into its hometown Grey Cup.
Collaros said that was a question better put to head coach Mike O’Shea.
O’Shea fielded it when he addressed reporters on Monday.
“Wade never says no,” the coach said, referring to team president/CEO Wade Miller. “He’s always: ‘What do we need, what do we need, what do we need?’ We are bound by a cap.”
But did the Bombers even spend to the salary cap?
“That I don’t know,” O’Shea said. “But I’m sure we did come close. We generally do.”
A new cap of $6.06 million came into effect this season, up from $5.65 million last year.
