Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives on Monday released new details and a route map in their ongoing search for 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard, who has been missing for more than three weeks.
Investigators confirmed that Melodee was last seen on Oct. 9, captured on video along the Colorado-Utah border while traveling with her mother, 35-year-old Ashlee Buzzard.
Authorities say Ashlee left California with her daughter two days earlier, on Oct. 7, in a rented white 2024 Chevrolet Malibu from a Lompoc car rental agency.
The sheriff’s office said Ashlee and Melodee traveled as far as Nebraska, returning to California on a route that passed through Kansas, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California.
Investigators now believe the Malibu passed through Green River and Panguitch, Utah; no
