GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Green Bay Packers players and team officials spent the afternoon giving back to the community, teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for a local veteran on Chestnut Street in Green Bay.
“It means a lot to me to be out here today, to be able to be out here today. Honestly it just means the world to me personally,” said Packers offensive lineman Lecitus Smith. “He’s done so much for this country, and for him to be a retired vet and still be in need of a place to stay—I can’t find it in my heart to even complain about being out here today.”
The effort is part of the Packers’ annual Salute to Service Week, which honors military service members and veterans through volunteer projects and community events.
Activities will continue throughout the we
