FARGO — Middle schoolers at Carl Ben Eielson in Fargo got a first look at the future of transportation, at least in miniature.
Students showed off their designs in Carl Ben’s first-ever mechanized pull toy parade.
Students in Alexis Yokum’s classroom worked in pairs to dream up, design and build the rolling contraptions using gears and chains. Among the fan favorites was a vehicle called "Flappy Bird," modeled after the popular mobile game.
"How to research things, how to make a decision on when you have a lot of ideas how do you narrow it down. All those are good life lessons, and then just having the creativity and fun that goes along with it," said Alexis Yokum, a teacher at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School.
