Dallas Cowboys Owner, President and general manager Jerry Jones stands on the field prior to a game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Oct. 5, 2025.

Jerry Jones is not a shy man, and with the NFL trade deadline less than 24 hours away, he is promising to make things happen on Tuesday.

On Sirius Radio on Monday, the man who holds all the keys for the Dallas Cowboys announced that he has traded for “someone” and that it would be a boon for the team’s shortcomings. As the team has struggled heavily on the defensive end since trading away Micah Parsons in the offseason, most signs point to making a play for a defender who could change the Cowboys' season around before they’re out of the playoff hunt.

Could it be a blockbuster deal for Trey Hendrickson? Kayvon Thibodeaux?

Dallas brass came in to quiet the rumors, saying there is nothing official to Jones’ words, but the Cowboys owner did promise he is working on several trades for the big day.

At 3-4-1 and hanging on by a fingernail in an ultra-competitive NFC conference, it doesn’t seem like a secret to Jones or anyone else watching the Cowboys that they need someone (or two) to anchor a directionless defense that has been ripped apart by almost everyone they’ve faced.

We’ll see if Jones delivers an early Christmas gift for Cowboys fans, or if by tomorrow they’ll be doing what they’ve done most Novembers recently: complaining about the decision-making in Dallas.

We will keep you updated as the story progresses, as well as all other rumors and reports leading up to the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4th at 4 p.m. ET.
