Dozens of animals were taken in from a Central Falls, Rhode Island, home on Monday, a local nonprofit said.
Forty-six cats and four dogs were at the home, according to the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

"These animals didn't have food and water, they have apparently been fed but the place is strewn with feces, and it reeks of ammonia," RISPCA President Wayne Kezirian told NBC affiliate WJAR .
The Central Street home is connected to the death of Erica Bader, 24, according to WJAR, which said six people were facing a charge of failure to report a death in the case.
It wasn't immediately clear how the animals might be connected to the criminal investigation.
