As Election Day approached, many Santa Fe mayoral and City Council candidates had spent all or most of their fundraising hauls, according to the campaign finance statements submitted to the City Clerk's Office Monday.

Justin Greene remained in the fundraising lead among mayoral candidates with $134,987, followed by JoAnne Vigil Coppler at $92,192. District 2 candidate Liz Barrett remained the City Council hopeful with the most money raised at $32,974, followed by District 1 candidate David Montoya at $30,281.

Unlike the rest of the top candidates, Barrett has not loaned her campaign any money. Throughout the campaign, Greene loaned his campaign $15,000, Vigil Coppler $20,000 and Montoya $14,199 — close to half of his total. Mayoral candidate Tarin Nix also loaned herself $10,000, while O
