TRAVERSE CITY—Protect the Peninsula (PTP) has announced its support for the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula in their request for clear and balanced standards governing all land use throughout the township.

However, PTP’s support comes with conditions. The group is calling for all negotiations to take place through a transparent public process, rather than behind closed doors as they have for the past five years of settlement discussions.

The winery’s proposal for new standards affecting agricultural enterprises would require the township to adopt new ordinances that would transform current agricultural zoning.
