CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — While voters across the Charlotte area are set to vote in local elections on Tuesday, one of the most closely watched races will be the one for Charlotte’s sixth city council district, which includes neighborhoods in and around SouthPark.
Democrat Kimberly Owens and Republican Krista Bokhari are seeking to fill the seat left vacant by Tariq Bokhari, Krista’s husband, earlier this year. Krista told Queen City News on Monday that she knows the job well, having worked as the district’s constituent services liaison.
“Not only do I have the experience, direct experience of working with the constituents and working with city staff, I also have my finger on the dial of what is needed from CMPD. I also have the relationships in Raleigh,” said Bokhari.
