Former India captain Mithali Raj reflected on the atmosphere and significance of India’s triumphant ODI World Cup campaign, describing the tournament as a turning point for women’s cricket both in India and globally in a conversation with CNBC-TV18 on Monday.

“Every game India played — whether in Visakhapatnam, Indore, or whichever venue — we were able to draw people to the stadium. The stands were filling up, especially during India vs Australia, India vs New Zealand, and, of course, the final. It was a fitting atmosphere — an electric buzz around the stadium and a sea of blue,” Raj said.
