CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Cabell County Commission on Monday released a list of five vendors they are looking at to handle the billing for the county’s EMS service.
Cabell County EMS Director Veronica Swope said the department will be outsourcing their billing to save money and make the process more efficient.
Swope said outsourcing is more cost effective, and the vendors have more resources.
It comes after Cabell EMS raised rates in October to collect extra funds -- funds they say will go toward paying their employees a fair wage, improving their equipment, and maintaining their ambulances.
The commission said a decision will be made at the next meeting on Nov. 13.
