The Wofford women’s basketball team (1-0, 0-0) took down the Converse Valkyries 126-65 on Monday night inside of Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The 126 points from Wofford is a new program record – the previous was 116 against Erskine in 2016.
The Terriers finished the game shooting 59.3 percent (48-81) from the field and hit 45 percent (9-20) of their threes. The team held Converse to 30.4 percent (17-56) shooting. The Valkyries only made seven of their 35 attempts from deep. From the charity stripe, Wofford made 21 of its 28 attempts while Converse converted 24 of its 32 attempts.
