Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath on November 4 responded to a social media post by investor and Mumbai-based IVF specialist Dr Aniruddha Malpani, who alleged that the broking platform was preventing him from withdrawing funds despite a sizable balance in his trading account. The episode sparked a debate among traders over access to their own capital and the withdrawal processes followed by online brokers.

Dr Malpani had claimed on X that although his Zerodha account showed a withdrawable balance of around Rs 42.9 crore, he was unable to take out more than Rs 5 crore in a day. He described this as a “scam" and accused the broker of using client money “for free".
