New Delhi, Nov 04: Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the Indian delegation at the 2nd World Summit for Social Development in Doha from November 4-6.
He will deliver India’s National Statement, participate in a high-level roundtable on social development, and present India’s progress in poverty reduction and social protection.
India has lifted 248 million people out of multidimensional poverty from 2011 to 2023, achieving a poverty rate of 2.3% in 2022-23. The country has enhanced its social security coverage significantly, verified by the ILO, from 19% in 2015 to 64.3% by 2025, benefiting 940 million citizens.
Dr. Mandaviya will also engage in bilateral talks with various nations and ILO officials to foster cooperation in labour mobility and employment generation.
