A major update has been issued over a UK VPN ban - with "nothing off the table". Baroness Liz Lloyd warned there was ‘limited evidence on children’s use of VPNs’.
There are “no current plans” to ban VPNs, but “nothing is off the table when it comes to keeping children safe”, the Labour Party tech minister has said.
Lord Clement-Jones warned there were “immediate concerns around implementation” of the Online Safety Act. The Liberal Democrats technology spokesman in the Lords, who tabled and later withdrew the motion, warned that the use of VPNs by children was “widespread”.
