Queensland car dealerships are set to mark down the price of hundreds of hail-damaged vehicles but experts are warning prospective buyers to do their research before making a purchase.
Businesses have marked down the vehicles with discounts ranging from $1000 to $10,000 after a supercell storm swept through the state's south-east.
However, RACQ principal technical researcher Andrew Kirk is urging drivers to factor in the potential cost of repairs, assess how water damage could impact the vehicle and check if the car can be comprehensively insured.
"We would recommend talking to your insurer prior to purchasing, just to make sure that you are then able to reinsure that vehicle with pre-existing damage," Kirk said.
