LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a vigilance inquiry against Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Rishikant Shukla, currently posted in Bhogaon, Mainpuri, after an SIT probe found evidence that he amassed illegal wealth worth nearly Rs 100 crore, allegedly in collusion with a Kanpur-based lawyer’s extortion syndicate. According to an official communication dated October 3, 2025 from the Home (Police Services) Department, the decision follows a recommendation from the Additional Director General (ADG), Administration, Uttar Pradesh Police, based on reports submitted by the Police Commissioner, Kanpur Nagar and the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
