NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WFSB) - A man accused of murdering his girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter will appear in court Tuesday on two new charges related to the case.
Jonatan Nanita faces charges of tampering with evidence and disposal of a body in New Britain.
The charges are in addition to a murder charge filed in Farmington.
Nanita is accused of murdering Jacqueline Torres Garcia in Farmington in fall 2024 and disposing of her body behind an abandoned home in New Britain a year later.
The investigation began Oct. 8 when New Britain police received a tip that led them to Jacqueline’s body on Clark Street.
According to arrest warrants, Nanita and the girl’s mother, Karla Garcia, withheld food from Jacqueline for the last two weeks of her life.
