The more than 40 memorial monuments at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery start greeting visitors as soon as they turn off South County Trail in Exeter and head west into the 280-acre cemetery.
Monuments line the short entranceway, and several more are located just beyond the administrative building near the entrance. A road winds around the cemetery, offering easy access to most of the monuments, which line the edges of the cemetery. Several monuments are also located in the middle of the burial field. Bisecting roads offer access to those monuments.
A building next to the administration building hosts bathrooms and an information kiosk that enables visitors to look up grave locations. Maps are also available.
