Actress Diane Ladd, who starred in critically acclaimed films such as “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Chinatown,” has died at the age of 89.
CNN reports that actress Laura Dern, Ladd’s daughter, announced Monday that her mother had died at Ladd’s home in Ojai, California. No cause of death was released.
“My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning,” Dern said in a statement, according to the BBC . “She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her.”
The news of Ladd’s death brought heartfelt reactions and tributes, including from her former husband, actor Bruce Dern.
