SHENANDOAH JUNCTION - Jefferson fell behind early, rallied to take the lead and then held on for a 24-22 victory over John Champe, Virginia, on Friday night, extending its winning streak to five straight games.
The Cougars (5-4) fell behind 15-0 in the first half after the Knights scored on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Dominic Plush to Luke Gonzalez in the first quarter and a 23-yard run by Braden Graves, which, combined with a two-point conversion pass from Elijah Marshall to Cole Rogstad, made it 15-0.
Jefferson's comeback began with less than a minute remaining in the first half, when Jackson Rockwell found Ricardo Lewis on an 8-yard touchdown pass just inside the goal line to make it 15-7 at the half.
John Champe got the ball to start the second half, but the possession didn't last
